Executive Management

Scott Hessell, President and CEO

Scott has extensive experience in business development, sales and marketing, and operations within the medical device industry.  He most recently worked as the Chief Operating Officer of Thayer Medical, a respiratory care device manufacturer based in Tucson, Arizona.  Over the past six years, he has consulted with numerous pre-market and early-stage companies in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device industry on various issues.  He has two master degrees including a Master of Business Administration from the Thunderbird School of Global Management.  He is also a senior lecturer and teaching fellow at at the University of Arizona and a McGuire Scholar at the McGuire Center for Entrepreneurship.

Advisory Board

Eric Fugelsang

Eric has a varied and competitive background in the pharmaceutical and medical device industries.  He founded and was President and Chief Executive Officer of Birdsong Medical.  In this capacity, he invented and patented two aerosol drug delivery devices as well as inventing a drug dose counting device.  Additionally, he has worked with several medical device manufacturers and distributors in their sales and marketing efforts.  Prior to founding Birdsong Medical, Eric was a sales representative for Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals where he represented a variety of drugs related to COPD, arthritis, hypertension and others.  He has his Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Hamilton College.

Dave Sladek

Dave has over 20 years of experience in the respiratory care industry as both a healthcare practitioner and business executive.  Dave founded Thayer Medical in 1988 and served as its President and Chief Executive Officer.  He invented numerous products and holds a variety of U.S. and international patents in the area of respiratory care.  He invented one of the most widely used devices in the field - the Valved Tee - that has sold over 20 million units worldwide.  Dave also was the principal inventor and patent holder on the LiteAire, a MDI holding chamber that employed an innovative plastic-to-paper conversion effort.  Dave is also a licensed respiratory therapist.
